Acupuncture has been proven to alleviate the after-effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer.

Pain is one of the most common, burdensome, and feared symptoms experienced by cancer patients. Common sources of cancer pain can include cancer itself, such as in bone metastasis, soft-tissue infiltration, or nerve compression. The therapies used to treat cancer, individually or in combinations, create a myriad of symptoms. Chemotherapy can cause nausea, dry mouth, breathlessness, fatigue, and musculoskeletal pain. Radiation brings on fatigue, jaw soreness, dry mouth as well, and nausea along with difficulty swallowing.

For many survivors, pain may become a long-term result of cancer treatment. Neuropathy can manifest as long-lasting pain in some patients, as well as inhibited sense of smell, and persistent joint pain.

Acupuncture helps to relieve the multiple symptoms caused by chemotherapy and radiation and ease the pain of any surgeries. In addition to pain relief, cancer patients have said that acupuncture helps them feel relaxed and improves their feeling of well-being.
